Please excuse the long email – it comes in two parts and contains lots of important information!
THIS WEEK
If you haven’t found it yet, then today’s micro-message is here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hX0A6undh3Y
Tomorrow (Thursday) there will be evening prayer at 7.30pm, also on our YouTube Channel.
And our preview from Joy for Sunday’s Children’s and Families slot is also up at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cQOTtX4iw7A
What can she be up to? Find out on Sunday! As last week, join us on YouTube at 10am for the Sunday Short and 10.30am for Children’s and Families. And this week, youth will be meeting at 11am on Zoom with Toby & team.
*EXCITING NEWS FOR NEXT WEEK*
As we can’t meet for Holy Week, we would like to do something really special as a church, as well as our service pattern (details next week).
The idea is that we create art along Holy Week themes and then it will all be posted daily for us to share on this blog: https://cskholyweekart.wordpress.com/
You do not have to be a spectacular artist, just willing to create something – then email a picture of it to [email protected] the evening before the day whose theme you have chosen (below). Every morning, I will update the blog with all the pictures on that day’s theme.
It can be in any media, e.g. a poem, a photo, digital art etc. and you can choose just one day, or even submit something for every day if you’re on a roll! More details on the blog post.
Here are the themes (Maundy Thursday is deliberately split over the days to cover all the elements):
Monday 6th (so submissions by Sunday night)
Jesus goes into the Temple
Mark 11 v 15 – 19
Tuesday 7th (submissions by Monday night)
Jesus washes his disciples’ feet
John 13 v 1 – 17
Wednesday 8th (submissions by Tuesday night)
Jesus shares a meal with his friends – The Lord’s Supper
Matthew 26 v 26 – 30
Maundy Thursday (submissions by Wednesday night)
Jesus prays in Gethsemane
Matthew 26 v 36 – 46
Good Friday (submissions by Thursday night)
Jesus is crucified
Mark 15 v 21 – 39
Saturday (submissions by Friday night)
Jesus laid in the tomb
Mark 15 v 46 – 47
Easter Sunday (submissions by Saturday night)
Jesus is alive!
Luke 24 v 1 – 12
So, get arty! All ages are welcome to participate.
We can’t wait to see what we can create together (apart).
With our love and blessings
Rachel & Sylvia
