Over the past two Sundays, it has been great to join via the CSK Church YouTube channel for Sunday Morning Worship followed by the Children and Families slot. Technology has given us the opportunity to come together to worship in ways which we probably never imagined and I am thankful for it at this time.
It was good to be part of the Virtual Prayer half hour last week and to take time during the week to listen to Sylvia and Rachel’s micro messages. It’s also been good to hear about Small Groups ‘meeting’ together through Zoom or Skype, CSK Youth ‘meeting’ through Zoom and Insta Live (Don’t worry, I hadn’t heard of that either!) and not forgetting our Facebook pages and the exciting new CSK Holy Week Art Blog.
With all this in mind, I just wanted to remind you that some of our church families have recorded short reflections for each day of Holy Week to go hand in hand with the Holy Week Ice Cubes we made in yesterday’s Children and Families slot. (It doesn’t matter how young or old you are, everyone is welcome to join in with these activities.) Look out for some familiar faces on our YouTube channel as they remind us of the things Jesus did during Holy Week and the impact these actions had. (I have attached the text for the Holy Week Reflections for those who would prefer to read them for themselves.)
I also hope that you are continuing to fill up your ‘2 metres of Thankfulness’. Perhaps you have even started a second strip already. Please hang on to them as it would be great to display them in the church building when we are able to be together again. We don’t know when that will be but we do know that day will come and there will be much to give thanks for.
So, as we journey through Holy Week, wherever we are, whoever we are with, whatever age we are, let’s find comfort from and hold tight to the truths that we sang about in yesterday’s morning worship –
‘Way maker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness
My God – that is who you are.’
