There has been new guidance issued advising that face coverings should be worn in church and also in takeaways (so, for us, the Chimes area). This is mainly intended to protect other people, not the wearer, from COVID-19 and they are not a replacement for physical distancing and regular hand washing. All visitors to the church building will still be asked to sanitise their hands on entry, but should now also cover their faces. The advice from the Church of England is attached for you to read. For obvious reasons, it is not required whilst sitting down to eat or drink – either outside or in – at Chimes.
CARE LINKS
Quite a large number of people very kindly agreed at the beginning of us being confined to our homes, to be Care Link Leaders, telephoning people weekly. Some Leaders had just a few people to phone: others had a dozen or more in their links, so this has been a costly ministry they have been serving in. I know that many of you really appreciated a call each week and will be extremely grateful to the Leaders for how they have given of themselves and their time during recent months. As restrictions ease, we now need to reasses the situation, as for many people the same level of contact is no longer needed. Some Care Link Leaders need to be released from calling as their circumstances have changed. However, we appreciate that this contact may be still really helping some individuals through this storm. We are all in the same storm but in different boats.
When you next hear from your Care Link Person, they may be explaining that they are now stopping calls altogether for now. If you would still like a call, let them know and we will allocate you a new person. Some Leaders may explain that they are willing to still call you. However, they won’t be offended if you say that you no longer require weekly contact. We are still church family and I encourage you to be real and open with one another so that we can best serve and support one another going forward.

If you would like to join us please email Rev Rachel Hilditch [email protected] and she will send you the invitation.
See you there!
Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

CHILDREN AND FAMILIES AND YOUTH NEWS
For those of you who have been part of our church family for more than three years you will know that we were able to create the two part-time posts of Children and Families Leader and Youth Leader due to a three year match funding grant from Ely Diocese. As a church we have been very aware of the huge positive impact on ministry that having these two positions has had and feel that the Lord wants us to continue with these posts going forward. We are delighted to share with you that after prayerful consideration, Joy has accepted a year extension to her post (through until August 2021) and Toby has accepted a year extension to his post (through until October 2021). Thank you to all who give financially to CSK which has enabled us to offer these extensions.
If you have a child aged 0 to 11, you will be receiving an email from Joy later this week. If you have not received an email by Sunday, please can you email Joy on [email protected] to let her know.
If you have a child aged 11 , you will be hearing from Toby this week about new plans for Youth on Sundays. If you haven’t heard from Toby by Sunday, please email him on [email protected] to let him know.
CHIMES
Thank you to all those who are supporting Chimes our church coffee shop both by volunteering and enjoying coffee and cakes. New volunteers are always welcome to help on the door, to encourage social distancing and to help clear tables, or to be a listening ear for customers. Please email Rachel on [email protected] if you could offer an hour or two.
QUIZ NIGHT
Huge thanks to the Garfield family for a great fun quiz on Saturday evening. We will look at organising another quiz during the Autumn.
FUTURE EMAILS
We are planning to change our church email system to Mailchimp, email-sending software from which you can unsubscribe at any time, as with the current system. IKnow will still be used for the app, rotas & all other church management. If you gave us permission to email you on iknow, we would now like to use Mailchimp for this purpose. It gives us the advantage of being able to significantly improve the visual content and layout of church emails. If you have any queries, please do email us.

6th July – Weekly News – Please reply by Noon on Thursday 9th July
CHURCH REOPENING
We are trying to serve you, the church family, to the best of our abilities during these challenging times. For the foreseeable future we will continue to record a Sunday Morning Short service and provide on line activities for our children and youth. In addition, we are looking at what we can offer in the way of services in the church. It is important to us that we provide the best opportunities we can for you all to worship our amazing God, whether at home or within the building.
A very small number of people have expressed to us how they would like to be back in the building for a service. There are many regulations both the Government and Church of England have introduced at this time. For example, we would not be allowed to sing, but there would still be opportunity for music to be used within the service. Everyone would be expected to leave the church building directly after the service, so there will not be any opportunity for chatting and socialising with each other before or after a service.
To help us plan for coming weeks, please could you answer the following five questions, sending your replies by Noon on Thursday the 9th July to [email protected]hampton.church We have a Leadership planning meeting Thursday evening. Many thanks.
1. If we held a mid-week short Morning Service with some spoken responses, reading, prayers and time to reflect, would you be likely to attend? Yes/No
2. If we held a mid-week Daytime Holy Communion said service, would you be likely to attend? Yes/No
3. If we held a mid-week short Evening Service with some spoken responses, reading, prayers and time to reflect, would you be likely to attend? Yes/No
4. If we held the next Taize Service (Sunday evening 19th July) in the building, would you be likely to attend? Yes/No
5. If we held a short Sunday Morning Said Service with reflective music, reading, talk, prayers, would you be likely to attend? Yes/No
In addition, If you would like to share with us what would help you worship during these challenging times, please do so in your replies to the office.
NEXT QUIZ NIGHT – SAVE THE DATE
Congratulations to the Garfield family who won the last quiz and will be hosting the next quiz night on Zoom on Saturday the 18th July.

GOVERNMENT CHANGES
Many of you will have heard that the government has allowed places of worship to reopen for services from Sat 4th July. We have only just received the government information this afternoon and nothing as yet from the diocese, so it will take a little while to process this and to plan accordingly, in order to keep everyone safe.
We know some will be excited at the thought of being back in the building and others will not feel that they are ready. Whatever you feel, you are still part of CSK and we will not rush any changes. We will update everyone when we have a plan for going forward, but for now, online services will continue, as below:
THIS WEEK
7.30pm Tuesday Facebook Live Prayer
7.30pm Thursday traditional evening prayer on YouTube

6.30pm Evening Worship on YouTube

If you wish to join this event and welcome Joel and his family please email [email protected]
BUILDING OPEN FOR PRIVATE PRAYER
The building will be open, as last week, 7-9pm on Wednesday and 10am-12pm on Thursday. This is for drop-in private prayer for individuals or family groups.
2 TIMOTHY 1:9-10
‘He has saved us and called us to a holy life – not because of anything we have done but because of his own purpose and grace. This grace was given us in Christ Jesus before the beginning of time, but it has now been revealed through the appearing of our Saviour, Christ Jesus, who has destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.’ AMEN!

HEBREWS 12:1-3
Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
With our love and prayers,
Sylvia & Rachel

We will probably need to make adjustments to these times as the weeks go on, but we hope that having the building open will provide a much-needed place of quiet reflection for prayer, in the middle of crazy times. Even when we feel lost with all the changes, Jesus is our hope and our firm foundation.
‘But I am like an olive tree, flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever. For what you have done, I will always praise you in the presence of your faithful people. And I will hope in your name, for your name is good.’
With our love and prayers,

A few of the feedback messages from people who joined us for our first virtual coffee meeting Sunday morning at 10:45am:
“Really loved meeting afterwards for coffee together. Great idea. I think the small groups worked very well. I loved the chance to speak with people I haven’t seen for ages.”
“As a technophobe, I was a bit dubious about the Zoom session this morning (Sunday), but was happily surprised how easy it was. It was great to be able to have some relatively normal conversations, and to see people again – and courtesy of the zoom screen to put a few more names to faces!
“I really enjoyed the get together this morning it was lovely to see everyone, catch up and meet new people too.”
We will hold another ZOOM coffee meeting in a few weeks time – watch out for the date.

SATURDAY 6th JUNE – QUIZ NIGHT
Do join us for a fun quiz on Saturday evening. The Zoom room will be open from 7:45pm and the Quiz will start at 8pm. You don’t have to be a member of Mensa or super clever to take part. It’s a great opportunity to connect as a church family and it isn’t serious or competitive. So grab your drink and snacks if you’d like to, and come and join us ….. we would love to see you or hear your voice if you’d rather not appear on the screen. The details you will need to join the Zoom quiz are at the end of this email.
COFFEE TIME AFTER THE CHURCH SERVICE
Hospitality and spending time chatting has always been an important feature of gathering together on Sundays. An opportunity to have a catch up and conversation. This coming Sunday we are offering you this opportunity again – from your own homes! We are trialing this for just one week so do join us this Sunday. Watch the service at 10am then grab a coffee and join our Zoom coffee meeting at 10:45am. You might be wondering, “How on earth can so many of us talk at the same time on Zoom?” Don’t worry! Zoom offers us ‘break away’ smaller groups so that’s what we plan on doing. We are going to ‘break away’ into groups so you will have the opportunity to chat with 3 or 4 people – then after ten minutes or so, we’ll go into a different break out room. You don’t need to do anything other than accept the invitation that will appear on your screen to join a room (once you’ve entered the larger Zoom gathering where this will all be explained to you on Sunday morning.)
NEW LIVE PRAYER OPPORTUNITY
Due to the fact we are currently unable to access ‘live’ YouTube, tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 7:30pm we are going to be live on Facebook! This will allow you to take part live in our prayer meeting by typing in prayer requests. Do log on and join us – if you have already ‘liked’ our CSK Hampton Church page you will automatically be alerted when we go live if you’re logged on to Facebook, so just click when that live notice appears on your screen.
OTHER EVENTS THIS WEEK
Micro-messages on YouTube on Wednesday and Friday.
Sunday 10am Short when we will be worshipping together as a whole church family, followed by Zoom coffee at 10:45am and Youth on Instalive will be at 11:30am this Sunday (not 11am).
